1 Peter 1:17-18

1 Peter 1:17-18

17 And if ye call on (to invoke for aid, worship, testimony, decision) the Father, who without respect of persons (impartial) judgeth (to try, distinguish or decide) according to every man’s work (actions), pass the time of your sojourning (foreign residency) here in fear: (awe and reverence)

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed (ransomed) with corruptible things (something that could perish), as silver and gold, from your vain (empty, idol) conversation (behavior) received by tradition from your fathers;

  • Psalm 106:34-40 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them: But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
  • Jeremiah 19:4-5 Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents; They have built also the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it into my mind.

  1. This message from the Word of God has taken me on an amazing journey regarding God’s yearning for us to receive Him. His holy judgment awaits those of us that have sincerely accepted his promised eternal life in Him or sadly those who reject Him will suffer eternal torment. May the latter come to their senses and change their minds (repent).
