Curiosity may have killed the cat but it has barely bruised the modern day human. Hear me out….
During a short and rather futile research project I ask several humans “what things, items, subjects, or matters are you the most curious about?”
A wide variety of answers were presented to include photography, animals, and the thought of retiring in Florida. My next question was “what about this subject matter makes you the most curious?“
As one could imagine there was a wide variety of answers surrounding the various topics. And so for my final question I ask “ what steps are you taking to satisfy the curiosity of the subject matter?”
This is where things got sticky….
The potential Floridian was “waiting out the market” and put it so far on the back burner the market shifted and he lost his opportunity.
The shutter-bug couldn’t pursue her curiosity due to lack of time and money. That statement rang true for many people. They had prioritized time for everyone in their lives except themselves. The money thing …. It can be conquered.
At the end of the day the general outcome for all the participants was that their curiosity was not strong enough to overcome their obstacles. Thereby nothing was done to satisfy the curiosity.
Humanity has adopted a “wait to be great” attitude. Furthermore I believe that this “wait to be great” attitude is a result of the Inc. 501c3, massively duplicated, so-called ‘Christian’ church.
The post modern Christian lives in a space where ‘rapture’ is freedom from anything other than their weekly clubhouse meetings replete with self affirmation and New Age philosophies.
Their lack of Biblical understanding is overwhelming evident as they openly promote traditions and teaching rooted in occult / pagan worship.
As they “wait to be great” they are missing the opportunity to satisfy their deepest desire… or at least this is what they claim… to know God.
This professed curiosity to know and follow the King of Kings and Lord of Lords…
Then you ask them… what are you studying? Do you dig into the root words and their meanings? … and then… the same words come to the surface…
“I made time for everyone”…. Except who?
“I’ve been waiting to see this/that first…”
Either we can learn to know and love YHVH in the here and now.. taking our curiosity to the next level … investigators and investors in our relationship … or wait and do nothing….
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
Very good young man
