After 40 years in the conventional church system I had to question the modern era and its conformity to the organized church system in America. Is this the intended behavior defined in the Bible?
Letting the Bible define itself….
Genesis 26:4-5 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
Genesis 27:8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
Nehemiah 9:13-14 Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments: and madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, to keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good.
So, here is where the modern church wails “salvation by works”. The problem with that mentality…. we are not talking about salvation. In the “Old Testament” world salvation came by grace alone. Blessings and peace came as a result of following YHVH’s established instructions. “Because that Abraham obeyed my voice”
Look at Noah…
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Look at Abraham…
Genesis 19:19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life..
And Moses…
Exodus 33:12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
The actions of living out the Torah [what the church calls, in a contemptuous tone, ..The Law] is exactly what YHVH wants His people to do. Feeling doubtful? It is due to the overwhelming disconnect between the Catholic-confused Protestantism that adheres to Greco-Roman theosophy over Biblical truth.
What does Messiah say about ‘The Law’?
John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me.
John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent me.
Proverbs 4:1-2 Hear, ye children, the instruction of the Father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
Paul further attests to this in Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Lastly, the entire book of James tells us that the instructions are visible proof that we are members of the body of Messiah!
Still not convinced? will it really make a difference in the end? I will let you meditate on these two verse….
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman [body of Messiah], and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
I pray that people everywhere begin to question the current system and realize that it is as flawed as the Pharisees and we should not be following their example. We should do exactly as Messiah warned the early church…
Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
These men had been charged with the proper delivery of Biblical truth and they embellished the instructions in order to embolden their wallets…. nothing new under the sun.
