Matthew 27:33 “And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull”
G1115 Γολγοθᾶ Golgotha (gol-go-tha’) n/l.. the skull. [of Chaldee origin]
H1538 גֻּלְ•גֹּלֶת gulgoleth (gul-go’-leth) n-f. a skull.
1 Samuel 17:4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
H1555 גָּליַת Golyath (gol-yath’) [ from H1540] H1540 גָּלָה galah (gaw-law’) to reveal.
In the establishment of the city Jerusalem under King David the skull of Goliath was buried as a sign of triumph over the Philistines. It is here that we find the words of Matthew to be relevant in the fulfillment of scriptures.
Goliath was one of the Sons of Anak, a Nephilim offspring, and when the cross of Christ pierced the soil … it was one of the affirmations of the fulfillment of Genesis 3.15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
We can see this was ‘to reveal’ Yeshua as Messiah.
