Namely What? … Part 3

The Copycat Lineage of Cain

Identity theft and home protection companies are part of modern life; but, they can’t protect you from Satan, the author and foundation of imitation, deception, and lies because Satan works on the mind of man.  Satan cannot create, but he can use what God created and God’s plan to try to deceive and manipulate mankind.

This understanding is necessary to when studying the genealogy of Cain.  After Cain is expelled from the presence of YHVH, he finds a wife.  “And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.” (Genesis 4:17)

Cain’s lineage contains very similar and at times exact names to those in Seth’s lineage.  Let me explain why this is so: when the serpent deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden, he was successful in separating man from God.  However, Satan didn’t count on God having a plan to bring man back into relationship. Satan tries to figure out what God has planned next and copy it to his own ends.  Such as, Satan figured out the virgin birth of the savior and created the same story through the mysteries religion of Babel.  Tammuz became the virgin-born babe of polytheism; and, believe it or not, people today believe Christianity copied the ancient cult. This is why you will find similar names in Cain’s genealogy: the father of lies, doubt, and confusion is also the best copycat.

The meanings of the names in Cain’s lineage also tell us something:

Genesis 4:18-22 “And unto Enoch was born Irad (fugitive): and Irad begat Mehujael (smitten of God): and Mehujael begat Methusael (as the Superior or Indomitable Strength but used of any deity): and Methusael begat Lamech. And Lamech (the despairing) took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah (ornament, as in trophy), and the name of the other Zillah (shade). And Adah bare Jabal (course, way): he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.

And his brother’s name was Jubal (to bring, especially with pomp): he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. (Personal reflective question: Any wonder why the music industry is so prominent in sex, violence, drugs and debauchery? Or why they want to have their own awards programs? )

And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain (bring forth wealth), an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah (seek pleasure)

Naamah appears in Sumerian Kings list as one of the wives of the archangel Sama’el. Hebrew folklore states that Sama’el is the angelic name of Satan before his fall.  The Jewish book of mysticism, the Zohar, claims that Naanah, together with her cohort Lilith, visited Sama’el and bore his demonic children, who became the Plagues of Mankind.  Noah’s wife, Naamah, was one of Seth’s descendants, not Cain’s.

“And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.” (Genesis 4:23-26)

Lamech breaks God’s instruction about the institution of marriage and takes TWO wives. And, then, listen to the proud, rebellious Lamech who boasts this to his 2 wives.  He also boasts of murder and proclaims he cannot be held accountable by anyone.  Cain’s descendants most assuredly followed in their father’s footsteps and were the polar opposites of their cousins from the line of Seth.  It is quite obvious to see who belonged to whom.

As a notation: The Babylonian Talmud, Sumerian Kings List, Epic of Gilgamesh and Zohar have been ignored by the Roman church system, yet the texts’ shed light on the history of paganism and events to which the Bible speaks. After the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the first Book of Enoch, human understanding of what was occurring in the pre-flood world has expanded exponentially leading to end times understanding our forebears would envy.
