Mark 1:12-22 detailed

Mark 1:12-22

12 And immediately the spirit driveth* him into the wilderness.

  •  G1544 ἐκβάλλω ekballo (ek-ɓal’-lō) v. to eject. [send away]

13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted* of Satan; and was with the wild (dangerous, venomous) beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

FORTY:  This number is recognized as an important number both on account of the frequency of its occurrence and with the uniformity of its association as a time of consecration and as a period of trial.

  •  G3985 πειράζω peirazo (pei-ra’-zō) v. to test (objectively), i.e. endeavor, scrutinize, entice

14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

What is this? Is it the death and resurrection of Yeshua? Or, is it the restoration of the Garden of Eden whereby man could once again commun with YHVH?

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled*, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

  • G4137 πληρόω pleroo (plee-ro’-ō) v. to fully, completely fill.

This answers the prior question. Yeshua is YHVH in the flesh and He is now communing with mankind.

16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

Yeshua was going to teach them, make them disciples, of the action of an evangelist.

Reminder the word gospel means: G2098 εὐαγγέλιον euaggelion (ev-an-ğe’-liy-on) n. the good news: of the kingdom, of God, of the grace of God, of Jesus Anointed, of His Son, of the Anointed One, of the uncircumcision (Gentile), of the circumcision (Hebrew), of your salvation.

18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

This is the Torah commanded Saturday.

22 And they were astonished* at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority**, and not as the scribes.

*G1605 ἐκπλήσσω ekplesso (ek-plees’-sō) v. to strike with astonishment, to amaze, from the roots of entire and moulded.

** G1849 ἐξουσία exousia (e-xou-siy’-a) n. mastery, superhuman ability.
