Abominations and the like….

In John’s Revelation, 21:27 “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

John is speaking to us about the people that enter into the holy city of the New Jerusalem in the New Heavens and the New Earth. The physical representation of the city of the New Jerusalem is the exact same as the Holy of Holies if the Tabernacle. Moses was given instruction directly from YHVH as to the Tabernacles construction and as such it was for our understanding of the covenant of the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Holy of Holies is a perfect cube, the height, width and depth are exacting same measurements. The epicenter of heaven will be exactly the same. Revelation 12:16 “And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.”

Twelve thousand furlongs equal 1500 miles! That is the nautical or direct line, or as my Granny used to say “as the crow flies” distance from Minot, ND to Brownsville Texas, north and south. For the east to west you can go from Denver Colorado to Washington DC! That is a massive city.

Getting back to the subject of the abominations. What exactly ARE abominations? There are only 6 New Testament references and 5 of them lead back to the book of Daniel. The final one is the on mentioned above from Revelation. There are 136 listed in the Old Testament according to a word search in the KJV.

Offending Egypt (3) in Genesis & Exodus and have nothing to do with entering heaven.

Animal sacrifices (11) in Leviticus and Deuteronomy again does not affect entering heaven, here it is because of the propitiation of Yeshua Messiah.

Homosexuality, Bisexuality, Bestiality (2) in Leviticus – WILL have heavenly ramifications.

Making, Serving and worshipping idols/false gods (28) in Deuteronomy, 1Samuel, 1Kings, Ezra, Psalms and Proverbs – WILL have heavenly ramifications.

Marriage & Prostitution (3) in Deuteronomy – WILL have heavenly ramifications.

Witchcraft and Sorcery (7) in Deuteronomy, 2Kings, and Ezekiel – WILL have heavenly ramifications.

Summary of abominations (10) Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and 2Kings

Warnings against following abominations (63) in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Zechariah, and Malachi.

If you take the position that the “law” or instructions of YHVH are done away with in the “New” Testament then THE only entity capable of not getting into heaven is Satan as he will fill the abomination that leads to desolation, i.e., the 5 mentioned. Every other person on earth would then qualify. There would be no need of a savior as there would be nothing to disqualify people.

What the new age preacher does not realize is that there HAS to be something to separate the sheep from the goats. Matthew 25:32 “And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:” so by what measure will this take place?

Every one of the items listed as an abomination in the instructions, or commands, of YHVH which the translators labeled negatively as a “law” instead of truthfully as “loving instruction”, are the measuring stick by which YHVH will judge.

Joshua 22:5 “But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Mark 12:30 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”

Psalm 119:97 “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.”

Psalm 119:113 “I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.”

Luke 24:44 “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”

Matthew 5:17-19 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

If your goal is to walk like Yeshua walked, live as He lived then it is imperative to learn the instructions, avoiding the abominations that lead to personal desolation. We can see from Yeshua’s words that the instructions are valid as long as the earth exists.
