Colossians 2:9-23 … Nailed It!

⁹ For in him dwelleth (to dwell permanent) all the fulness of the Godhead* bodily.

(*G2320 θεότης theotes (the-o’-tees) n. divinity (abstractly). This points to the many manifestations of YHWH whether it be in the Son, Yeshua, or as the Holy Spirit, but there too, as the burning bush, the pillar of fire by night and pillar of smoke by day, AS WELL AS the DUAL manifestation of the Dove descending upon Yeshua at his baptism.)

¹⁰ And ye are complete# in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

(#This is the exact same word used in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Which is G4137 πληρόω pleroo (plee-ro’-ō) v. completely fill, fully preach, perfect, supply.)

¹¹ In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

This is the spiritual connection to the Abrahamic Covenant. The Abrahamic Covenant brought the believer into relationship by circumcision and thus it was the believer’s blood that was shed. The New Covenant through Yeshua is bringing the believer into relationship through Yeshua’s blood.

¹² Buried with* him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with (in company, resemblance) him through the faith of the operation (workings) of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

(“buried with” is the Greek word G4916 συνθάπτω sunthapto (sïn-thap’-tō) v. to assimilate spiritually.)

¹³ And you, being dead in your sins (transgression of the Torah) and the uncircumcision (unregenerate state) of your flesh, hath he quickened together (revitalized completely) with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; (transgression of the Torah)

¹⁴ Blotting out (obliterate) the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Colossians 2:14 New Living Translation “He canceled the record of the charges [the list of things we transgressed according to Torah] against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.”

Notice that Yeshua DID NOT do away with the Torah – He paid the PENALTY for our previous actions of breaking the Torah!

¹⁵ And having spoiled (make a ruin) principalities and powers (conscripted or delegated rulers), he made a shew of them (exposed) openly (to everyone), triumphing over (their failings) them in it.

¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

(The seven feasts of YHWH and the adherence to the Torah commands)

¹⁷ Which are a shadow of things to come (revelation); but the body is of Christ. (These are to be practiced as a reminder of what will take place at the end of days.)

¹⁸ Let no man beguile (to defraud) you of your reward in a voluntary (determined) humility (submission) and worshipping of angels, intruding (being lead) into those things which he hath not seen (clearly discerned), vainly puffed (having no reason to be proud or boastful) up by his fleshly mind, (just because he thinks himself better)

¹⁹ And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

²⁰ Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments (organization) of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

²¹ Touch not; taste not; handle not;

²² Which all are to perish with the using; after the commandments and doctrines of men?

This instruction beginning in verse 19 is NOT about the Torah, it is about the Pharisees control over the believers in Yeshua and the extras they created within the faith of the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. This is pointed directly at the Talmud, Midrash and Takhanot!

²³ Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

The works of the Pharisees, the works of the Roman Catholic Church, the Protestant Reformers are all Rudiments of this World!
