Matthew 8:1-4 …. restoration

Matthew 8:1-4 …. restoration

8:1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

(“I will” = G2309 θέλω thelo (the’-lō) v. to determine, choose or prefer. 2nd – to delight in. Yeshua delights in our cleanliness!)

And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

(The word “them” is mistranslated here. The word in Greek is G846 αὐτός autos (af-tos’) p:p. self. So the instruction from Jesus is that he makes the proper gift according to the Torah for his personal condition to bring him back into the community as he is now without disease. Did you catch that? Jesus commanded him to follow the “Law of Moses”! Why? Because Jesus wrote the “Law” and He NEVER changed it!)

Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to teach.
