Revelation 1:7-20

⁷ Behold, he (Messiah) cometh with clouds (a large, dense crowd, a great number of people); and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him (the sun-god worshippers): and all kindreds (tribes, races) of the earth shall wail (beat the breast, to lament) because of him. (Messiah) Even so, Amen. (aw-mane’  so be it, truth)

⁸ I am Alpha (first, in unity) and Omega (finality), the beginning (chief applications of order, time, place, or rank) and the ending (a definite point or goal), saith the Lord, which is (alive), and which was (died), and which is to come (returned), the Almighty. (the all-ruling, absolute and conclusive YHWH)

⁹ I John, who also am your brother (same as you), and companion in tribulation (persecution), and in the kingdom (realm) and patience (endurance) of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, (captive, imprisoned) for the word (Torah) of God, and for the testimony (evidence given) of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ I was in the Spirit (breath of YHWH – Holy Spirit) on the Lord’s day (the 1^st day of the prophesied Millennial Kingdom NOT SUNDAY), and heard behind me a great voice (incredible sound), as of a trumpet, (a blast, the voice of God)

¹¹ Saying, I am Alpha (first, in unity) and Omega (finality), the first (chief applications of order, time, place, or rank) and the last (a definite point or goal): and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven (seven is the number of completeness) churches (assemblies of believers) which are in Asia (the known world of that time); unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (tell everyone what is to come)

¹² And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; (representing the churches as light to the unbelievers; to treat or act towards one in a given manner.)

¹³ And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man (Jesus, whom should be the center of attention by these seven churches or assemblies of believers), clothed (vested) with a garment (complete array) down to the foot (foundation), and girt about the paps (breasts; consumed) with a golden (to treat or act towards one in a given manner.) girdle (scales, balance, yoke).

These seven churches have seven different backgrounds and mindsets towards the word of Torah. Yeshua will bring about a balance to the instructions and expects the word of Torah to be consistent among the churches.

Jeremiah 30:11 “For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full          end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee:        but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.”

¹⁴ His head (leadership) and his hairs (to tend or take care of) were white (light) like wool (to declare), as white (light) as snow (to pour); and his eyes (envy) were as a flame of fire; (a blaze)

¹⁵ And his feet (foundations) like unto fine brass (brilliant light), as if they burned (refined) in a furnace (in a light, or consumed); and his voice (tone) as the sound (loud) of many waters (people). (deep, strong, forceful)

¹⁶ And he had in his right hand (as that which usually takes or receives) seven stars (heavenly spirits): and out of his mouth (spoken decrees) went a sharp (keen, swift) two edged sword (blessings to his children and curses to the wicked): and his countenance (actions, visible moves) was as the sun (light/Torah) shineth (became apparent) in his strength. (miraculous events)

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. (an uncontrolled face-plant) And he laid his right hand (as that which usually takes or receives) upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: (I am that I am; YHVH/ see note on 1:8)

¹⁸ I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys (access to) of hell (dead flesh) and of death.(eternal, spiritual death)

¹⁹ Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; (record these events to educate the people so they will not fear the end of Satan’s rule of the earth.)

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels (messengers) of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches (bodies of believers/ types of beliefs).

Mark 7:6-7 “He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Ecclesiastes 1:8-9 “All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done {again}: and there is no new thing under the sun.

1 Peter 4:17 “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”
