Namely What? … Part 8

The mixing of Bible and Ba’al, following the gods with pointed tails….

Genesis 36:32-35 “And Bela the son of Beor  reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah. (Dinhabah = “give thou judgement”) And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah [Jordan] reigned in his stead. (Jobab means to cry out or bawl. Zerah means ‘shoot forth beams of light’. Some have mentioned this person could actually be Job and the name Jobab is the Horite version of the name.)  And Jobab died, and Husham (hasty, eager) of the land of Temani reigned in his stead. And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith”

Bela means “devouring, that which he hath swallowed up”*** and Beor means ‘light’ as in the sense of burning.  ***1Peter 5: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

Beor / Ba’al is also known as Ha’ada or Hadad – Hadad was equated with the Indo-European Nasite, Hittite storm-god Teshub; the Egyptian god Set; the Rigvedic god Indra; the Greek god Zeus; the Roman god Jupiter, as Jupiter Dolichenus. Ba‘al/Hadad is the lord of the sky who governs the rain and thus the germination of plants with the power of his desire that they be fertile. He is the protector of life and growth to the agricultural people of the region.

Genesis 36:36 “And Hadad died, and Samlah (covering) of Masrekah reigned in his stead. ”

In Sanchuniathon’s account Hadad, often called the son of Anu, by a concubine who is then given to the god Dagon. The cognate Akkadian god Adad is also often called the son of Anu . The corresponding Hittite god Teshub is likewise son of Anu. We will get to the importance of this very quickly.

Genesis 36:37 “And Samlah died, and Saul (“asked for”) of Rehoboth (Wide Avenue) by the river reigned in his stead.” (Matthew 7:13 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”)

The name Ba’al-hanan means “Baal is gracious”. Since time immortal, it has been the practice of tribes of the Middle East to adopt the name of the chief god they worship as part of their family name. Here the familiar name “Ba’al”, a Canaanite word for the now deified Nimrod, attached to one of Esau’s progeny; this son, and several others, were Baal worshippers and proud of it. It is presumed that that “son of Achbor” (pronounced ‘Awk-bahr’) is a duplicate of “son of Beor”.

Hadad [aka Adad] is the name of the Semitic storm god. Anu is often associated with Adad in invocations. The name Adad and various alternate forms and bynames (Dadu, Bir, Dadda) are often found in the names of the Assyrian kings. His association with the sun-god, Shamash, due to the natural combination of the two deities who alternate in the control of nature, leads to imbuing him with some of the traits belonging to a solar deity.

Shamash and Adad became in combination the gods of oracles and of divination in general. Whether the will of the gods is determined through the inspection of the liver of the sacrificial animal, through observing the action of oil bubbles in a basin of water or through the observation of the movements of the heavenly bodies, it is Shamash and Adad who, in the ritual connected with divination, are invariably invoked. Similarly in the annals and votive inscriptions of the kings, when oracles are referred to, Shamash and Adad are always named as the gods addressed, and their ordinary designation in such instances is bele biri [“lords of divination”].

Deuteronomy 18:10 “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.”

Ezekiel 12:24 “For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.”

We can see this is the works of Satan to further the actions instituted by Nimrod. {Genesis 10:8-128 And Cush begat Nimrod (we shall rebel): he began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9 He was a mighty hunter (eager to take prey and set snares) before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.

10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel (to confuse or mix), and Erech (to lengthen, prolong or live with), and Accad (to subtly strengthen), and Calneh (fortress of Anu), in the land of Shinar.

11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh (abode of Ninus, fish goddess), and the city Rehoboth (avenue or path), and Calah (completion and strength), (Asshur is simply the Assyrian name for Nimrod; Nimrod being a Babylonian name.)

12 And Resen (bridle control) between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.

Remember Anu, the Sumerian god is known as “Lord of the Constellations, Spirits and Demons” [i.e. Satan]

Esau, like Nimrod, the goal is to: “Bridle or control mankind completely with his path to the home and fortress of Anu by subtly strengthening a prolonged mixing or confusion of religion.”

So “a rose by any other name” is really still a rose. The same applies here, a demon by any other name is still a demon.
