“And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
Dividing waters from waters, on the surface {no pun intended} seems to be an impossibility to the human mind. When we look with our eyes only, at the properties of the world in which we live, we can see the waters of the lakes streams and oceans.
This division of the surface waters is actually addressed in the next verse. “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.”
What we cannot see are the waters found “above the firmament” or specifically, within the atmosphere, unless one considers the clouds. The atmosphere are made up of gases like Oxygen and Argon with the bulk being Nitrogen, all of which exist in a liquid form.
These gases are suspended in the dome of the earth and we consume them with the process called “aspiration”. Aspiration is defined as: “audible breath that accompanies or comprises a speech sound; a drawing of something in, out, up, or through by or as if by suction; the act of breathing and especially of breathing in”.
Here we see God’s perfect plan to give us waters we can draw into our lungs and the waters we need to hydrate our bodies. Psalm 33:6 tells us God himself aspirates the world into existence….“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.”
When you stop long enough to think about the depth in which God planned out the universe, you will realize, not only how vast is the universe but too His love and care for you. Matthew 4:4 as well as Luke 4:4 reminds us “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (breath) that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
So the next time the world seems too big or too scary or too much to handle…… Breathe in! Take a deep breath of God’s Word and you will find that He has a wonderful plan, a perfect plan and you were part of it from the beginning. He made it, He manages it, He knows how to make it work for you because He loves you.
