For some reason I got to thinking about this today… here is the first half..
Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. Matt.22.24-29
Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe this is the spiritual bride… I believe that the Pharisees have unwittingly told their own story and are predicting their own demise…
In the very beginning, Cain chose a way to go serving other gods that’s number one
Next the children of the earth worship the fallen Angels
After the flood, they continued their idolatry at the tower of Babel
They learned to serve other gods in the land of Egypt, and then more gods in the travels to the promised land
Once they get into the promised land, they learn the ways of the Canaanite’s
All the years in Babylon, they learn to serve other gods
And by the time Yeshua arrives on the scene, they have now learned the gods of the Greco Roman Empire…
Seven different adulterous husbands!
The very next verses he defines the individual relationship of the believer in the marriage covenant to him alone….
And then he goes on to tell the Pharisees that they have missed out on the whole deal and that they are destined for hell …
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. Matt 22:30-33
This further solidifies my belief that we are to follow The Instructions!
