Daniel 8

1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.

There are three watercourses near Susa, of which, the Ulai may have been the eastern branch of the Karkheh River (alternately called Choaspes river, in ancient Greek: Χοάσπης), which at one time divided into two branches some 20 miles north-west of the city.

Susa appears in the very earliest Sumerian records: for example, it is described as one of the places obedient to Inanna, patron deity of Uruk. Susa is further mentioned in the Book of Jubilees (8:21 & 9:2) as one of the places within the inheritance of Shem and his eldest son Elam. It is generally accepted that Elam was the first to name his daughter Susan.

3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

Kingdom of Media-Persia

4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

The Medes were North and East of Shushan and the Persians were South and East. These armies became aligned against the Babylonians who resided to the West.

5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west (Greece) on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn (Alexander the Great) between his eyes.

6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. (massive war between Greece and Medo-Persia)

7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler (bitterness) against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: (conquered) and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; (Alexander died) and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, (Antiochus Epiphany) which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

After the death of Alexander the Great, his vast empire was divided among his four generals, known as the Diadochi. These generals each took control of a portion of the empire, leading to the formation of four Hellenistic kingdoms. The four generals and their respective territories were:

  1. Ptolemy I Soter: He took control of Egypt and established the Ptolemaic Dynasty, which lasted until the Roman conquest.
  2. Seleucus I Nicator: He established the Seleucid Empire, which covered a vast area including much of the Near East, Asia Minor, and parts of India.
  3. Cassander: He ruled over Macedonia and Greece.
  4. Lysimachus: He took control of Thrace and parts of Asia Minor.

Here is a brief outline of the lineage leading to Antiochus IV Epiphanes:

  1. Seleucus I Nicator: Founder of the Seleucid Empire.
  2. Antiochus I Soter: Son of Seleucus I.
  3. Antiochus II Theos: Son of Antiochus I.
  4. Seleucus II Callinicus: Son of Antiochus II.
  5. Antiochus III the Great: Son of Seleucus II.
  6. Seleucus IV Philopator: Son of Antiochus III.
  7. Antiochus IV Epiphanes: Brother of Seleucus IV and son of Antiochus III.

Seleucus I Nicator founded the Seleucid Empire in 312 BC.
Antiochus IV Epiphanes began his reign in 175 BC.

10 And it waxed great, (grew immense) even to the host of heaven; (people of the world) and it cast down (brought to the ground) some of the host (princes) and of the stars to the ground, and stamped (oppressed) upon them.

11 Yea, he magnified himself (proclaimed his authority) even to the prince (religious headship) of the host, (all humanity) and by him the daily sacrifice (Hebrew instruction) was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary (sacred) was cast down. (taken away)

12 And an host (mass of people) was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression,(revolt) and it cast down the truth to the ground; (buried) and it (false god worship) practised, and prospered.

This where the Greeks and then the Romans begin the use of the word ‘mass’ for the religious ceremony. It is for the whole of humanity and includes all of the attributes of an amalgamated belief system. This formation was the result of a desire to contradict the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob.

13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (Evenings & Mornings); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

The Maccabean Revolt took place from 167 to 160 BC. This revolt was led by the Hebrew priest Mattathias and his sons, most notably Judas Maccabeus, against the Seleucid Empire and its ruler, Antiochus IV Epiphanes. The revolt was a response to the oppressive policies of Antiochus IV, which included the desecration of the Hebrew Temple and the imposition of Hellenistic practices on the Hebrew people. The success of the Maccabean Revolt is commemorated in the Hebrew festival of Hanukkah.

For the person looking for a date on the calendar for the return of the Messiah… I can not… things I would consider in the pursuit? This scripture could help align some possibilities…. 2300 days on the Hebrew calendar is almost 7 years. We can see from the dates of Antiochus reign that almost seven years in came the revolt and removal of his reign.

If we were to use the one day equally a year we could take 2300 less 175 (B.C.) and come to the year 2125 but we have to consider a 365 day year versus a 360 day year (Hebrew) and should we consider this period of Antiochus or should we consider the biggest hijacking of faith ever to have existed? Constantine and Roman Catholicism. Constantine promoted himself to the role of prince of the host as well.

Constantine’s 315 plus 2300 is 2615 in the Gregorian calendar… 2545 using Hebrew calculations. With just this much variation all the prognosticators in the world could not figure this out even with AI.

15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

Gabriel = H1397 גֶּבֶר geber (gheh’-ɓer) n-m. (properly) a valiant man or warrior. Combined with the word H410 אֵל ‘el (ale) n-m. God, as the Superior or Indomitable Strength. The warrior spirit of God himself teaching Daniel of the wars that are to come.

17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.

19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

21 And the rough goat is the king(dom) of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

The beast is the kingdom and the horn is the king – Alexander the Great. Ephesians 6:11-12 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The beast is the devil and the leaders of the nations are the horns or ‘rulers of darkness in this world’.

22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. (Antiochus Epiphanies)

24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Antiochus Epiphany died of an illness)

The fraudulent leadership of the world under Satan and his minions will preach Unitarianism and “coming together” under the laws of the Antichrist. They will use the same tactics as the Spanish Inquisition, the Muslim Jizrah and Hitlers military idealism… comply or die.

  • Matthew 10:34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”
  • Revelation 6:4 “Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.”

26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

This prophesy of Antiochus is nearly 500 years prior to its fulfillment. Nearly the same amount of time as our prognostication window calculated earlier. Things that make you go hmmmm.
