2 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 We are bound* to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

• G3784 ὀφείλω opheilo (o-fei’-lō) v. (of purpose or action) ought (i.e. ought to plow in hope).

Imagine actually living out this concept. -> “In my act of worship to YHVH I will purposefully plow in hope, into your life, into our friendship and into your faith.” Imagine the impact!

• Matthew 13:27-37 “So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:”

We see here the truth of the Gospel message and not the blasphemous “Sowing a seed of Faith” preached by the likes of Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland and the hundreds of frauds and lemmings which God calls tares.

5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

It is within this realm of that a personal and intimate relationship to YHVH is formed. The church at large wants to claim the “New Covenant” in Jeremiah 31:31 without the preceding context.

• Jeremiah 31:27-30 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast*. And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the Lord. In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.”

• Genesis 3:14-15 “And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

The Anti-Christ, HaSatan, The Dragon of Old otherwise named the Devil…. this is the Beast the world follows. The Father of lies has invaded all aspects of the earth to include organized religions. God originally established his relationship with the whole of Israel at Mt. Sinai and that is the marriage that is broken. The New Covenant is the new marriage to the resurrected Messiah who IS God according to Hebrews.

Now knowing that the Marriage Contract is unchanged (Matt 5:17) we can claim Jeremiah 31:31 and accept his invitation in submission and humility. Look again at Jeremiah 31:31 with this lens…

• Jeremiah 31:31-34 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt (mixed multitude); which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

• Matthew 24:30 “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

• G3509 νέφος nephos (ne’-fos) n. a cloud. (figuratively) a large, dense crowd, a great number of people.

8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

What is the Gospel of Yeshua? John 7:16 “Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.” This is the Torah!

9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

This verse is abused by the pulpit. They say that a truly merciful God would somehow leave humans in constant state of torture. The ultimate description of hell or permanent misery is stated clearly; “destruction (or removal) from the presence of God”. The church uses the statement in Revelation 20:10 as their marker to pin this cosmic frying pan existence to all of those set for destruction. Therein lies the problem. They, along with HaSatan, will be eliminated completely, just as rising smoke dissipates and eventually disappears.

• Isaiah 9:18 “For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.”

10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
